Eulogy For My Mother

Eulogy For My Mother

Today, we gather to honor and remember you, Mom. To speak of your strength would take a lifetime, and yet I will try to hold it in these few moments. You've always been the kind of person who stood tall in the face of every storm, who never wavered when things got tough. You taught us that resilience is not found in avoiding hardship but in facing it with grace, courage, and quiet determination.

I see you still—the way your hands, weathered but gentle, would fold a blanket just right or find a way to comfort us when words weren’t enough. It’s in these small, everyday moments where your strength truly shone. Not in loud declarations, but in the silence of your care, the persistence of your love. Through everything—through all the ups and downs—you showed us how to carry on, not by pretending things were easy, but by showing that we could keep going, even when things were hard.

You lived with a heart full of compassion, but you never shied away from life’s realities. You met each challenge head-on, whether it was a struggle with work, caring for others, or life’s inevitable losses. It’s a strength you passed on to each of us. Whenever we were lost, your words were simple but powerful: “Keep moving forward, no matter what.”

Even in the final days, Mom, you remained steadfast, giving us the strength to carry on now. You never wanted to be the one we mourned, but instead, the one who lifted us up, reminding us to live, to keep going. We will, because of you. You taught us that life is less about the challenges we face and more about how we choose to stand through them.

Your resilience wasn’t just for you—it was a gift you gave to us. Every day you spent with us was a reminder of what it means to love deeply, to live fully, and to face life with unshakable courage. It’s a gift we will carry with us for the rest of our days, knowing that your strength now lives in us.

I miss you, but I feel you here. I hear you in the quiet moments, guiding me still. And I will keep going, just like you taught me, with strength, with resilience, with love. Thank you for everything, Mom. We love you, and we always will.
